Pulsgram

Notifications: categories, mute and quiet hours

Choose what makes your phone buzz, mute a chat or a group, and learn why some notifications wait until morning.

Updated:

Categories

In Settings → Notifications you turn each category on or off:

  • Messages: when someone writes to you.
  • Friends: friend requests and accepted requests.
  • Keep: when someone wants to keep a message with you.
  • Daily Pulse: the 3 minute window and pulses you receive.
  • Pulse state: critical pulse, flatline, upcoming deletion, revival.
  • Good moments: defibrillators received and thresholds reached.
  • Direct line: when someone calls you into Raw Mode.
  • Account and safety: moderation warnings and the link to your data. This one cannot be turned off in the app.

Mute a chat or a group

In the chat choose Mute this conversation and for how long: 1 hour, 8 hours, 24 hours or forever. The other person never finds out. Only the warnings that something is about to be lost stay on (critical pulse, flatline and upcoming deletion); you turn those off in the Pulse state category. In a muted group, mentions still reach you.

Quiet hours

Between 22:00 and 8:00, your time, notifications that can wait arrive in the morning. New messages and the Daily Pulse window do not wait.

Reminders, like the last minute of the Daily Pulse or a message unread for an hour, also have a daily limit, so your phone does not buzz too often. Direct messages, group messages and mentions never count toward that limit.

I get no notifications at all

  • Check that notifications for Pulsgram are on in your phone's settings.
  • Check that the category is not turned off and the chat is not muted.
  • Close the app completely and open it again, so the phone renews its link to the notification server.
