The number next to every chat
Every chat has a pulse between 0 and 180 BPM. A new chat starts at 60 BPM.
- It rises when you write to each other.
- It drops by 15 BPM a day when you go quiet.
The colors tell you at a glance how you are doing:
| Pulse | What it means |
|---|---|
| 100+ BPM | Healthy: you talk often. |
| 40 to 99 | Cooling: a message or two warms it back up. |
| under 40 | Critical: the row turns red. |
| 0 BPM | Flatline: the heart stops. |
Flatline
At 0 BPM the chat turns gray and keeps its history for 48 hours. After that the messages are deleted for good, on our side too. Not even support can bring them back.
The defibrillator
A defibrillator brings a chat back from flatline to 60 BPM, with its whole history, as long as the 48 hours have not passed. You get defibrillators like this:
- one when you sign up;
- one when three friends you invited actually join;
- one when you keep a chat above 140 BPM for seven days, at most once a month;
- two a month with Puls+.
Going away for a while?
With Puls+ you have Pulse pause: freeze every BPM for up to 14 days, and your chats wait exactly where you left them.
